Our "family," Graveyard Point, Alaska

HISTORY
Iliamna Fish Co. is a family-owned cooperative; we've been fishing together on the Bering Sea in Bristol Bay, Alaska for three generations. Recently, we've begun to invite individuals to take part in our sustainable (MSC-certified and Monterey Bay Aquarium-recommended) wild sockeye salmon fishery, as shareholders in our harvest. Our customers include Blue Hill at Stone Barns, Applewood Restaurant in Brooklyn, and Dean & DeLuca.

WHAT IS A WILD SALMON SHARE?
A share is ownership of part of our harvest, a wild Alaskan sockeye salmon fishery. A single share is 12 lbs of premium, wild sockeye, that we've caught by hand for you in our small, 20-foot-long boats. Your 12 lb share of wild sockeye will consist of 6 to 7 vacuum-sealed and flash frozen, hand-cut fillets. Each fillet weighs approximately 1.85 lbs and serves six adults. (7 fillets fit easily into a standard refrigerator freezer, with room to spare.)

PRICING
The total cost of a 12 lb share is $198. Salmon shareholders agree to pay for their entire season of wild salmon, with a 50% deposit due ($99.00) when you sign up. You'll pay for the second half of your share when you pick up (or before, if you wish.) Your deposit enables us (your fisherwomen & men) to plan for the season and to keep your share price affordable.

PICKUP OF WILD SALMON SHARE
Your Brooklyn, NY pickup location will be specified once the share registration opens in April 2011 (each shareholder is responsible for picking up her or his share). There will be 5 pickup days in late August or early September. You'll choose specific hours to pickup during the registration process in April.
