Fresh-Frozen Fish

Fresh-frozen salmon are available for delivery by the third week of August, yearly. Our fresh-frozen salmon are quite simply, the best frozen, wild sockeye salmon available. Because we fish in small boats, bleed and chill our fish immediately out of the water, and process promptly in small batches, our sockeye set a new, premium standard for frozen fish. Beside ease of storage and handling, frozen salmon allow maximum flexibility. If you require 500 lbs one week and 1500 lbs the next, you can easily order and thaw specific quantities on an as-need basis.

For restaurateurs and independent grocers, we prefer to coordinate weekly delivery through one of your existing distributors. For wholesale and distribution customers, we are able to deliver in large quantities using refrigerated hauling companies. In this case also, we prefer to work with a company that you already use in order to make the acquisition of our product seamless.

Fresh Fish

For Iliamna Fish Company each season begins June 18 and ends July 20. During these 5 weeks, we are able to deliver fresh salmon by air and courier service. Generally, our fresh fish are delivered within 24 hours of harvest. Currently, our fish arrive at 6:30 AM each morning in the following major cities: Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and Newark. Our air shipments are coordinated with a large national air carrier, assuring professional and prompt delivery. Please contact us for delivery times specific to your location.

According to the Alaska Sea Grant Marine Advisory Program, fresh, wild sockeye have an approximate shelf life of 12 full days, two days longer than that of Chinook salmon.

Quantities and Capacity

Iliamna Fish Company is a boutique fishing company with significant production capacity. For fresh fish orders, during the fishing season, our customers generally have a minimum need of 1000 lbs weekly. For frozen fish orders, our customers generally have a minimum need of 500 lbs weekly throughout the entire year. We have 25 fishermen in our group, capable of catching a collective 500,000 lbs per season.
